When converting a modern car into a competition car, there are various safety devices which you have to remove and the on board computers really don't like this unless they are coded. We're adding in Motorsport UK and FIA homologated safety features anyway, so removing these won't be an issue.
The coding is done via software called NCS Expert which is available to download elsewhere. These are the settings I've found work for my 2007 R56 MINI Cooper S.
Entries are changed from "aktiv" to "nicht_aktiv"
Removing curtain airbags:
